Sealed proposals will be received at the Bid Express Website or the office of the Board of Road Commissioners of the County of St. Clair, 21 Airport Drive, St. Clair, Michigan, 48079 until 10:00 A.M., EDT, Thursday, June 11, 2026 for: Church Road Reconstruction St. Clair County, Michigan Work is more particularly described as 2 miles of road reconstruction containing approximately 10,500 cubic yards of earth excavation, 3,100 cubic yards of embankment, 14,200 tons of aggregate base, 9,500 tons of HMA, 40,200 square yards of slope restoration and 2,600 feet of culverts along with pavement markings, monument boxes, and miscellaneous items. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified/cashier’s check or Bid Bond on a solvent bank in the State of Michigan payable to the St. Clair County Road Commission or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid as guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into a contract. This work shall be in accordance with the current Michigan Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction, Standard Plans and Supplemental Specifications. Michigan Department of Transportation pre-qualification classification for this project is: 15000 CB When M.D.O.T. prequalification is required, a bidder, at the time the bidder submits the bid, must have proper classification and numerical rating for the work on which the bidder proposes to bid. The bidder must be fully capable of performing the work both financially and with experience in the type of work. When MDOT prequalification is not required, it is the intention of the Road Commission to award the contract to a contractor fully capable both financially and with previous experience in this type of work.
