Work is more particularly described as 4,500 tons of HMA, 8,600 square yards of HMA base crushing and shaping, 5,300 square yards of pavement rubblizing, 1,000 Ft concrete curb and gutter, 700 tons of shoulder with pavement markings, monument boxes, and miscellaneous items.

Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified/cashier’s check or Bid Bond on a solvent bank in the State of Michigan payable to the St. Clair County Road Commission or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid as guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into a contract. This work shall be in accordance with the current Michigan Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction, Standard Plans and Supplemental Specifications. F-30 Wedge & Overlay Project

BID REQUIREMENTS:

The bidder attests to having examined the locations of the work described herein and is fully informed as to the nature of the work and the conditions relating to its performance and understands the quantities shown are approximate and are subject to increase or decrease. All township bids require Township approval and are subject to cancelation if the necessary funding is not available.

The bidder hereby proposes to furnish all necessary equipment, tools, apparatus, and other means of construction, do all the work, furnish all materials except as otherwise specified herein; and, for the unit prices named in the itemized bid, to complete the work herein described in strict accordance with the plans and the requirements of these bid documents. The bidder further proposes to perform extra work (for items not included with the itemized bid) that may be authorized by the Alcona County Road Commission. Compensation for extra work will be made on the basis of an agreed upon unit price prior to performing the extra work.

Any and all bids may be used on the Michigan Department of Transportation State Highway System.

Bids shall be firm from March 17, 2021 to March 17, 2022, except where noted differently. All bids shall be firm at the time of order. All bid applications shall be submitted on Ogemaw County Road Commission forms.  All bids must bear bidder’s name and name of material or services bid plainly marked on the outside of an opaque envelope.

The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, to waive any defects or irregularities, and to make an award deemed, in their opinion, to be in the best interest of the Ogemaw County Road Commission.  Successful bidders providing services (not materials) must submit acceptable proof of insurance with limits (directly from the insurance agency) as set forth by the Ogemaw County Road Commission.  A copy of these limits is available from the Ogemaw County Road Commission.
