Crawford County Road Commission seeks bids by 7/11/2019

The Crawford County Road Commission will receive sealed bids until 4:00 p.m. (for a bid opening during their regular meeting), on Thursday, July 11th, 2019 at their Grayling office located at 500 Huron Street, Grayling, MI, 49738, for the following quantities of cutting edges:

(1000) – 5/8″ x 8″ x 6′ Single or Double Beveled thru Hardened with 5/8” bolt holes

(30) – ¾” x 8” x 7’ Single or Double Beveled thru Hardened with ¾” bolt holes.

Standard hole punch, M D O T specifications required: 10 1/2#/ft. after punching, C-1090 steel (minimum).

Bidders are urged to bid on various sizes and styles. Bidders are urged to quote on other types of blades, i.e., 5/8” & 3/4″ thickness, other cross-sections, etc.  Bid prices shall include delivery to the Grayling garage. Delivery within thirty (30) days unless otherwise specified. Prices shall be good for One (1) year after the date of award of bid.

Oscoda County Road Commission seeks bids for a dam safety inspection report

The Oscoda County Drain Commission is seeking estimates for the Perry Lake Dam (Dam ID 2670) Dam Safety Inspection Report required by Michigan’s Dam Safety Act, Part 315 and Part 307 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended.  The inspection report must be prepared, signed and sealed by a professional engineer licensed in Michigan by December 31, 2019.  The report must include:

1)    An evaluation of the dam’s condition, spillway capacity, operational adequacy, and structural integrity.

2)    A determination of whether deficiencies exist that could lead to the failure of the dam, including but not limited to potential seepage problems, internal erosion, surface erosion, embankment stability problems, and structural deterioration.

3)    Recommendations for maintenance, repair and alterations of the dam necessary to eliminate any deficiencies.

The engineer must obtain the updated discharge for the Perry Lake Dam from the Hydrologic Studies and Dam Safety Unit (HSDSU) of the Water Resources Division (WRD) to prepare the inspection report.  The design flood flow to be used in evaluating the spillway capacity of the Perry Lake Dam is the greater of the 1.0-percent-annual-chance (100-year) flood or the flood of record.
